Welcome!
This is the research and education website of Dr. Suzanne Walther, Associate Professor in the Environmental and Ocean Sciences Department at University of San Diego. I am a fluvial geomorphologist that uses GIS, Remote sensing, and quantitative methods to study the role of natural disturbances and human land use in shaping river system dynamics. I also study water supply and policy in urban areas in semi-arid regions, such as Cape Town and San Diego. I teach physical geography through the lens of Natural Disasters, Geomorphology, and geospatial techniques courses (Cartography, Maps and Spatial Data, and GIS). I also collaborate with my students on a variety of GIS-based projects.
I am always looking for enthusiastic students to work on research (in the field and computer lab)!
